Geri's brand new single "Calling" is out this week in the UK and is released on 2 cds and a tape; there are 2 exclusive new tracks on cd 1 plus the video and a cool remix package on cd 2. Geri has been busy promoting her record in the UK and will be appearing on GMTV and MTV Select tomorrow (Wed 28th). In addition to this Geri is performing on the Smash Hits tour on Wed 28th in Nottingham, Fri 30th in Newcastle and Mon 3rd Dec in Manchester. Our heroine has lined up a series of live performances throughout the coming weeks, and here's where you can catch her in action: 27th October - Girl Guide Gig, Wembley Arena 30th November - Smash Hits T4 Tour, Newcastle 3rd December - Smash Hits T4 Tour, Nottingham In addition to this Geri's getting behind a brand new sex education website aimed at under 16s. Developed by Marie Stopes International, its aim is to reduce rates of sexually transmitted diseases and teen pregnancies in the UK. "This site gives frank information, but in a way that's appropriate and safe for young people," said Geri. "I fully support any initiative which improves knowledge and protects young people from crisis pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections." The site will launch on Thursday, 25th October and sees Geri taking part in a live webchat from 5.30 to 6.15pm. Love Geri xxx 25/07/2001 Another Geri letter..... Hi there, Geri here. It's been a while since I've dropped you guys a line, so you must smack my hand next time you see me. Anyway, how have you been? I hope you're well and happy. I've had a bit of a crazy month, even for me! It feels like I've been all over the world, and yeah, I've probably covered a lot of it, promoting "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster" and "It's Raining Men" which have gone down a storm almost everywhere! I'm really proud of my new single "Scream....." - which is out next week, hint-hint, nudge-nudge! - and I think it's got a really important theme about not losing the fun-loving kid inside you! I always try to have a good time whatever I do and already this song has given me so many memorable moments. Shooting the video was a blast - how cute are my co-stars, did you see them? - as was performing it at Party In The Park and last week's Donna Sotto Le Stelle fashion gala in Rome. I still get really hyped up and excited about gigs like those 'cause they're things I've always dreamt of doing! 13/07/2001 Do you wanna go faster? Hello Sylvain Well I'm finally back and what a busy time I've been having promoting my album abroad. I've been all over the place; France, Spain, Italy and Canada doing lots of interviews and photoshoots, but, although its tiring, I love every minute of it. Back on home ground now though - did you see me at Party In The Park? It was such a brilliant day and the crowd were great. I sang three of my favourite songs - my new single "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster", "Mi Chico Latino" and my number 1 hit "It's Raining Men". I must have had about 100 dancers on stage with me at one point all dressed up with leggings and leotards - it was fab. Back stage I checked out some of the other stars of the show - the gorgeous Ricky Martin (he's so cute), the fantastic Destiny's Child (they were amazing) and Damage (their voices just make me melt?!). Right now I'm preparing for the release of my new single and have got some TV's lined up where you can see me perform it - 15th July which is a Geri special, 27th July Top Of The Pops and 28th July CDUK. It's released on July 30th so if you haven't heard it yet then you wanna get on the phone to your radio station and ask them to play it and play it LOUD!!!!. The video is on MTV and you can call up The Box too to watch it - the more people that call, the more time's you'll get to see it. Check out my two alter egos - which one do you prefer?
