HERE’S one GERI HALLIWELL made earlier. The knitting fanatic stepped out in a mohair jumper which I reckon is her own creation. It’s not bad — but isn’t the hole for her head a little big? The former Spice Girl, who took up knitting to help her quit smoking, was enjoying a picnic with ex BROS boy CRAIG LOGAN in LA’s Hollywood Forever Cemetery. It’s not as morbid as it sounds — they were watching a special screening of the classic film Written On The Wind. You would have thought Geri would be better at knitting by now, considering how much practice she has had recently.

>Geri's a Fat Slag

Geri Halliwell has landed a role in a film about cartoon slappers The Fat Slags. The singer — who has put on some much-needed weight of late — is said to be “very excited” about the project. The movie will follow the antics of infamous Viz comic characters Tracey and Sandra, who live to stuff chips, expose their ample flesh in tarty clobber and seduce petrified men. It is thought the former Spice Girl will be playing one of the Fat Slags’ mates. A source close to Geri said: “She has been offered a large part in the movie. She is keen to join because the scripts are very strong and she wants to develop her acting career. Geri hopes to sign on the dotted line in the next few weeks. I don’t think she’ll be having to put on any weight for the role though. Geri will not be playing a fat slag, but will be one of the other birds they end up hanging around with, called Paige.”

I understand the lead roles will be played by Smack The Pony star Fiona Allen and Sophie Thompson, sister of Emma, who was in Four Weddings And A Funeral. The girls will don state-of-the-art prosthetic make-up to add the necessary flab, like Eddie Murphy did in The Nutty Professor.

The movie is being developed by production company Artists Independent Network, who gave us My Big Fat Greek Wedding. They have called on top comedy writers to make sure it’s as funny as the cartoon strips. Geri has been keen to develop her acting career and has her own agent in Los Angeles. She recently recorded a cameo role in TV’s Sex And The City alongside Sarah Jessica Parker and Kim Cattrall and showed off a sexier, more curvy figure on the set. Geri became skeleton-thin after constant dieting and an obsession with yoga. But she told me recently she has given up the punishing regime because she fears it could ruin her chances of becoming a mum. She said: “My body has gained a little weight, but it feels really healthy. “I feel sexier with a little bit more flesh to my bones.”

>"Sex and the City" broadcast day

Not that "Sex and the City" needs any help getting spiced up, but Geri Halliwell is adding her name to the list of guest stars populating the last season of the HBO show. The former Ginger Spice shot a spot at New York's Soho House in which she plays Phoebe Kittenworth, a member of a hip New York club that Samantha (Kim Cattrall) tries to join. Halliwell's episode airs on August 24, according to an HBO spokesperson.

The singer, 30 — looking curvy again — almost fell overboard as she stood up to swap places with a girl pal. An onlooker said of the ex-Spice Girl, who had a hit with Scream If You Wanna Go Faster: “After a while she gave up the oars and let her chum do the hard work.” Back on dry land Geri, who has been filming a guest role in saucy show Sex And The City, found a pearler of a way to relax. She sat doing some knitting.

Geri Halliwell is to film a pilot for a US version of Stars in Their Eyes. The Daily Express says Halliwell will film the show for Fox TV next week. She's been in New York this week filming a cameo role for Sex and The City. US television executives are said to be keen to import Stars in Their Eyes after the success of the US version of Pop Idol.

Wearing a big smile and a startlingly abbreviated outfit, this is Geri Halliwell in her latest post-Spice Girl guise - filming a cameo role in Sex and the City. The 30-year-old singer donned a micro-skirt and bikini top for her part as a nightclub receptionist called Phoebe Kittenworth. Phoebe is an old friend of one of the hit television show's main characters - high-powered PR executive Samantha Jones, who is played by Britishborn Kim Cattrall. She helps Samantha gain membership of the British-owned nightspot Soho House in New York after she has initially been refused entry.

Earlier, Geri - looking back to her voluptuous best after her well-publicised battle against the eating disorder bulimia - took a rowing trip in Central Park following lunch in the luxurious Boat House restaurant. Prior to taking to the water, she was seen knitting a baby outfit. However, the star was quick to scotch rumours that she might be expecting a child herself. She explained that the outfit is for her sister, who is pregnant. 'It's going to be a gift,' said Geri.
