Geri Halliwell has been named ambassador for the Eating Disorder Association. In an exclusive interview for the BBC she spoke to Newsround's Lizo Mzimba about her experiences with her body image and her battle with eating disorders.

Talking helps

She spoke about her battle with eating disorders and how she often felt unhappy about the way she looked. Geri told Newsround: "I really feel that what's really helped me is talking about it with other people who share the same illness. "And knowing that I'm not alone in it and really just being gentle and not beating myself up for it."

Everybody's different

The star described how she found it easier to keep her eating disorders under control by watching out for triggers like feeling hungry, angry, lonely or tired. And she said that while some people are naturally thin or naturally heavy, the most important thing is how you feel on the inside.

A fan who spotted them said: "She was wearing this short black dress that looked tailor-made to show off just how well-proportioned she is these days." Geri, 31, is reckoned to have returned to the voluptuous 32E figure she had at the height of her Spice Girls fame before plunging to a 32C during her eating disorders and super-slimming days. Her fan added: "She looked extremely happy with her bloke. " And good for her—she deserves all the luck in the world."

Geri Halliwell looked fit to burst on a morning run in London’s Hyde Park. Not many girls could wear a tracksuit and still have an eye-popping cleavage. The former Spice Girl, however, does it with ease. Geri has just filmed a part in new Viz movie The Fat Slags. The pair met on the set of movie The Fat Slags. Jerry, 29, plays a rich bachelor and Geri is his assistant. She looked stunning in a tartan skirt. But there were no kilty secrets, she even met his mum Linda and dad Michael at the diner. Geri, 31, has dated a string of men recently — at least she won’t forget this one’s name.

>RUMOUR: Geri to host the MTV Music Awards 2003

Former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell is to host this year's MTV Europe Music awards. The ceremony will take place in Edimburgh on 6 November 2003 and will feature live performances from Britney Spears, Sean Paul, Evanescence and Ricky Martin. Since the launch of the ceremony in 1994, it's the first time the awards will visit Scotland and a 6,000 capacity venue is to be specially built for the event at Western Harbour, Leith.

Boob job or not, Geri Halliwell has made one big decision during her time back in the UK - to split with her manager, I can reveal. The one-time Ginger Spice has parted company with Andy Stephens, who also looks after George Michael and Lisa Stansfield. I'm told it's because Ms Halliwell, 31, wants to spend more time concentrating on her acting career. She's signed up with Jason Herbert at Global Talent.
