>Geri at the launch of Hollywood star Kevin Spacey’s film company website

Oscar winner Kevin Spacey has helped put budding movie writers on the road to success with the backing of some of Hollywood's finest. The American Beauty star was in town, on the 27th of November, for the London launch of a new website, Triggerstreet.com, which aims to introduce unknown script writers to the industry's decision makers. Joining him at the glittering event were Geri Halliwell, Jeremy Irons, Helena Bonham Carter, new Bond girl Rosamund Pike, Joseph Fiennes and Rhys Ifans. Sir Paul McCartney, Ronan Keating, Lulu and Elton John's partner David Furnish were also on hand to promote the website, which was launched in the US last week. The website will provide tips for budding writers and allow them to send in scripts which could be viewed by movie bosses, organisers said.

>Geri and the Popstars visit sick children

Geri Halliwell and the Popstars girls spread a little Christmas cheer when they paid a visit to a children's cancer ward. They took a break from rehearsals for this Saturday's final show to meet patients at London's Middlesex Hospital. Geri brought pet dog Harry along for the occasion and spent two hours chatting to the youngsters, many of whom have been undergoing months of gruelling cancer treatment. Some of them seemed more excited about meeting Harry than they did about being introduced to the former Spice Girl. As Popstars judge Geri chatted to five-year-old Samuel Sherkartchi, from Edgware in north London, he interrupted her to ask: "Where did you get your puppy from?" She also met wheelchair-bound Robbie Kemp, 12, from Islington, north London, telling him: "I know a Robbie and he's got big blue eyes just like you." The visit was organised by Cancer Research UK to launch its Children's Cancer Awareness Month, which runs through December.

>Geri in the animated 2DTV show again!

Beckhams' baby lampooned in 2DTV Victoria and David Beckham's new baby Romeo will feature in a new series of ITV1's animated satire show 2DTV. The two-month-old will be seen feeding his mother Victoria when the show returns on November 27. In another skit Trevor McDonald is evicted from his News At Ten job by a phone vote, and is replaced by Ant and Dec. Viewers will also see George Michael and Geri Halliwell convince Elton John he should follow a strict diet after he crashes through all seven floors of his mansion. Other new targets include Roy Keane, Julia Roberts, Camilla Parker-Bowles, Saddam Hussein, the Slaters from EastEnders, Tara Palmer-Tomkinson and Tony Blackburn. 2DTV has been extended to 30 minutes. Producer Giles Pilbrow said: "I think ITV finally got sick of all the viewer complaints that the show was too short." It's the third series for the team, which was also behind the video for George Michael's controversial single Shoot the Dog. Others featured in the topical comedy show are Bargain Hunt's David Dickinson and Ken Livingstone.

Sir Paul McCartney, Kelly Jones, Geri Halliwell and the Sugababes are amongst the pop stars who have designed wooden building blocks to be sold online in a charity auction. Eric Clapton, Cher, Ronan Keating and Sir Cliff Richard have joined an impressive line-up of 160 international celebrities to get involved in the artistic initiative. The collector's items, available on ebay this week, will help to raise money for Tommy's, the baby charity, as it celebrates its tenth anniversary. A selection of blocks from each of the music, sports and film sectors can be viewed online from now until November 24. >Geri updated her official site!

Here is her message:

Hi, Geri here, just wanted to update you all what I've been up to since the release of 'Calling' almost a year ago! Can't believe we are near the end of 2002 already!

As you have probably seen from recent press my second book 'Just For The Record' was released in September. It is my account of events in my life since I left The Spice Girls. Most of the new pictures were taken in LA, as I spent most of the early part of this year there.

I have also been busy with another Yoga video, which is to be released later this month. That was also shot in LA and again I had a great time making it.

Unless you have been living on another planet you will also know that I am currently a judge on 'Popstars- The Rivals', alongside Pete Waterman and Louis Walsh. I have loved taking part in the show. Now we are down to the live element and I'm glad it's down to the public to vote for who they want to stay in the band. It would be such a hard decision.

I'm also please to say that I have started work on some new tracks so, it's early days yet but, hopefully I'll have some new stuff for the release sometime in the new year!

Pop back soon for more updates now it's all going.

Big Kiss

Geri
