Wannabe actress Geri Halliwell could be playing a love interest in upcoming Friends spin-off series Joey. The former Spice Girl is being lined up as a potential regular in the hotly-anticipated sitcom starring Matt LeBlanc as loveable Joey Tribbiani. And, according to reports in the press, the star - who's already had a cameo role in Sex And The City - would play a British soap actress who moves to Los Angeles to become a film star, falling for ladies man Joey in the process.

A source says: "She is one of the favourites to land the part. There is a lot riding on this show so they are looking for a familiar name to play Joey's girlfriend. Geri aced her first audition. She has great chemistry with Matt and her comic timing was perfect."
