Geri Halliwell and Duncan James have formed an unlikely partnership — but not of the romantic variety. The pair met up last year when Blue, whose hits include Breathe Easy, were in Los Angeles recording with Stevie Wonder. Geri was at the session and got chatting to Duncan about working together. In fact they spent so much time together that word got around they were dating. But I can reveal that’s untrue, to the relief of Duncan’s girlfriend Anya Lahiri. Duncan called me yesterday morning (from his bed, girls — aren’t I lucky?) to set the record straight. He said: “I was introduced to Geri by Innocent Records as we’re both signed to the same label now. It was suggested that we should write together. Geri loved Blue’s single Guilty, which I co-wrote. So we met up for dinner to discuss it. We got on really well and we’ll be working together in the future. It’s flattering but for the record there is nothing romantic between Geri and myself.”

Could the lives of former Spice Girl chums Geri Halliwell and Victoria Beckham be any more different these days? Geri was back to work yesterday in London, heading for a meeting with her managers. The down-to-earth star, looking much healthier since gaining a few pounds, walked on her own to the offices. Meanwhile, over in Milan, stick-thin Victoria was doing her lady of leisure routine. She went on a shopping spree around the poshest parts of Italy’s fashion capital, with an entourage of security men and assistants in tow. Showing off the £1,300 hair extensions she had done last month, she looked sleek in an all-black ensemble and the obligatory dark shades. Victoria spent a couple of hours nosing around the city’s best jewellery and fashion shops. Funny how Geri’s the only one smiling, though.

Confused Geri Halliwell can’t seem to decide whether the weather will be to her liking. First the ex-Spice Girl kept her cool by leaving a gym in London’s Notting Hill in a slashed skirt and a midriff-skimming top. Then the 31-year-old — whose hits include It’s Raining Men — wrapped it all up in a fake mink coat.

Geri Halliwell apparently hired a cab for a day and ended up with a bill for £250. The former Spice Girl first went from her home in Notting Hill to a holistic medical centre on Harley Street in central London for several hours. When she left there she asked the patient driver to take her to a recording studio in East London. She spent the rest of the afternoon there before heading home, says The Sun.

Geri Halliwell looks to have got her bouncier figure back as she puts on a wet T-shirt show after being caught in a downpour. The former Spice Girl was taking a break from recording her new album at a studio in South London when the heavens opened. It seems Geri, 31, wasn’t prepared for quite such a cold front.

Geri Halliwell shows her sugar and spice and all things nice side by giving two die-hard fans pressies. The beaming former Spice Girl rewarded the devotees after spotting them waiting outside her London flat. They got a teddy bear and a pair of shoes with outrageous heels, plus autographs – strange choice for two boys, though. Anyhow, it at least proves it is possible to be famous and a nice person. Demanding divas take note.

I know Geri Halliwell’s earnings are down since the Spice Girls – but surely she can afford to splash out on a pair of shoes? Perhaps she’s cutting back to pay the bill after her stay at the £500-a-night Berkeley Hotel in London, where my snapper spotted her barefoot yesterday.

Geri Halliwell has hired a fitness instructor to get herself into shape for the launch of her new album later this year. But it looks like she also needs to hire a stylist – and quick. The former Spice Girl has lost her skeletal frame and appears much healthier. But she was still up early yesterday to head to the gym from her London home. Wearing baggy tracky bottoms, a shabby anorak and cap, she was definitely undercover.

Looks like Geri Halliwell has learned the hard way that if you go for a Shih Tzu, you’ve got to be prepared to clean up afterwards. The former Spice Girl dotes on pet Harry – a prime example of the Chinese breed – so when they go walkies she takes a an old carrier bag in case he releases a single or two on the pavement.

And on this occasion, on a stroll near Geri’s home in Notting Hill, West London, he did indeed turn out to be dirty Harry – within yards of a sign warning against such behaviour. Geri dutifully sprang into action and the matter was quickly in the bag.

Harry has only just been reunited with his owner after a miserable few months apart while she was in LA and he stayed in London. It’s lovely to see the two of them back in, er, business again.
