Her
career: After her departure

a girls band. She was taken and fastly she met four other girls called Melanie
C., Melanie B., Victoria and Emma. They became the Spice Girls and during about
two years they sold millions and millions of singles and albums. They made several
hits such as "Wannabe", "Say You'll Be There", "2 Become 1", "Who Do You
Think You Are", "Spice Up Your Life", "Too Much", "Stop",
"Viva Forever"... They became a real phenomenon.
But, Geri decided to leave the band on the end of May 1998, while the band was
touring. The news was a real shock. So, she took refuge at George Michael's house,
in South of France, while the four other girls still toured without her. But Geri
was decided to go on alone and she worked very hard to make an album. On June
of 1999, Geri was back with her first solo album entitled "Schizophonic". She
released her first solo single "Look At Me", which reached the n°2 in the
UK charts! Then, Geri went on making hits with the singles "Mi Chico Latino",
"Lift Me Up" et "Bag It Up", which all went at n°1 in Britain! About more
than 1,5 million copies were sold of her debut album, which is a very great achievment.
Next, Geri took a well-deserved break. After that break, Geri was back again with
her second solo album entitled "Scream If You Wanna Go Faster" on May of 2001!
Even if Geri is used to writing all her lyrics, she is back with a cover. She
released "It's Raining Men" , which is the soundtrack of the successful movie
"The Bridget Jones Diary". Fastly, the single is a hit and is selling
lots of copies in the whole Europe, making many n°1 (UK, Italy, Spain, France
and so on...). Then Geri released the singles "Scream if You Wanna Go Faster"
and "Calling". She even made a special French version entitled "Calling[Au Nom
de l'Amour], as a gift to France. After that, Geri took a second long but well-deserved
break... Then, she came back with "Ride It" in November 2004, the first
single from her 3rd album entitled "Passion". The single was quite a
hit and went to n°4 in the UK charts. She
released her second single "Desire" in May 2005. Unfortunately, "Passion"
and "Desire" didn't do so well.
